SCHOOL SUPPORT PROJECT
Educational and developmental support
Thanks to a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, children, preadolescents, and adolescents from primary and lower secondary schools receive educational and developmental support to enhance their school journey.
Launched in October 2021 in collaboration with the “Muzio” school district, the project initially involved the Calvino and Manzoni primary schools and the Muzio lower secondary school in the Colognola and Villaggio Sposi neighborhoods. In January 2022, it expanded to include the “Mazzi” school district, reaching the Biffi primary school in the San Tomaso neighborhood.
The intervention offers academic support and skills enhancement for students identified by their schools as facing learning challenges or specific social needs. The school support project is more than just homework help: it is a space for self-expression and the discovery of personal talents. Learning takes on a more relaxed and participatory dimension, far from the pressure of performance. A welcoming environment—where even sharing a snack becomes an opportunity for growth and peer connection—fosters both academic and relational development.
This educational approach is especially evident in Villaggio Sposi, where the activities take place at the parish center provided by the Parish of San Giuseppe. The entire project is continuously monitored and refined through the work of a project coordinator, who maintains active communication with staff and school contacts to ensure effective support and brighter futures for the children and young people involved.
