Bangladesh
Bangladesh , Cox’s Bazar
Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh is home to nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees who fled the violence in Rakhine State in Myanmar.
Most of them are children, women and elderly: many are traumatised, malnourished and in dire need of food, safe water, health care and mental health services.
Over 90% of the refugees sleep in the open without shelter.
These extremely vulnerable women, children and elderly have no blankets, beds or food and less than a quarter of them have access to toilets and showers.
