In the early months of 2023, Missione Calcutta’s activities arrived in Wajir County. In collaboration with the local partner, CADIS Kenya, Mission Calcutta organised a food distribution programme to meet the basic needs of approximately 250 families in the village of Qahera, near Wajir Town, capital of the county.

The food distribution has targeted families with various vulnerabilities and fragilities: the presence of elderly individuals and those with health issues, adults and children with disabilities, families in conditions of severe material poverty, families with children experiencing severe malnutrition.
The activity included the distribution of essential food items such as beans, cooking oil, and rice.
