HÉLÈNE’S HOME: A FUTURE FOR VULNERABLE WOMEN
In collaboration with the local partner Reward, Missione Calcutta began the construction of a building named after the President of our association, Hélène, in 2022.
The building, made possible through a private donation, will be two storeys high.
The ground floor will house a professional training centre in collaboration with experts from vocational training institutes recognized by the Ministry of Labor. It is estimated that, for this activity alone, approximately 200 beneficiaries will be served each year, both residents and non-residents of the facility.
The first floor, on the other hand, will be a reception centre for women (aged 18 to 60) and children in extremely vulnerable conditions, often victims of violence and abuse. According to local regulations, the centre will be able to accommodate 15 women, who may stay at Hélène’s Home for up to 3 years.
