THE EDU-BAG PROJECT
Interventions in education, culture and technology
The Edu-Bag project, born out of the collaboration with the Department of Social Policies, the Department of Education of the Municipality of Bergamo and the ‘Muzio’ elementary school of Colognola, aimed at combating the phenomena of material, educational and relational poverty, exacerbated or generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project included three areas of intervention:
- Educational, with the supply of educational materials, books, educational games, hours of educational support;
- Cultural, by offering cultural activities, such as guided visits to historical places in the city of Bergamo, or to museums;
- Technological, by providing devices and connectivity support.
In 2021, Missione Calcutta distributed 15 educational bags for the kindergarten in Colognola containing reams of paper, crayons, markers, exercise books, kinetic sand, logic blocks, erasers, glues, sharpeners and other education material. While 14 educational bags were dedicated to the secondary school, including a guided tour of the Accademia Carrara and Bergamo Alta.
