Our project aims to increase and improve the quality of health services for women in the State of Benadir, supporting the Karaan Maternal and Infant Centre, run by local partner SOMO (Save Our Mothers).
The centre is located in a marginalised area of the capital Mogadishu, characterised by a significant absence of accessible health facilities for the local population, which consists mostly of internally displaced persons.

The centre’s staff provides healthcare to women, both pregnant and non-pregnant, with gynaecological services and breast and uterine cancer prevention.
We have been supporting the centre since 2019, working to enhance its services for women and children.
