A Heart Beyond Borders: Support from Germany to Missione Calcutta

Over all these years of activity, our mission has been made possible thanks to the invaluable support of big-hearted people from all over the world. Among them, a special role has been played by donors living in Germany: individuals who, despite being far from our office, have chosen to make a real difference in the lives of many children and vulnerable communities.
A Network of Solidarity Across Europe
From 2000 to today, dozens of donors residing in Germany have supported Missione Calcutta’s activities in India, with generosity and long-term commitment. These friends and supporters have gone beyond occasional donations, building with us a relationship based on trust and shared responsibility towards the most vulnerable.
Sponsorship Program: An Investment in Children’s Future
Most of our German donors have chosen to commit to the sponsorship program. Thanks to their contributions:
- many children have gained access to education, proper nutrition, and basic medical care;
- numerous families have received concrete support to improve their living conditions;
- a bridge of hope has been built between different cultures and realities, founded on solidarity and mutual respect.
This form of support goes far beyond financial aid: it is an investment in the future, enabling children and young people to grow up with dignity and opportunities.
Beyond the Sponsorship Program: Concrete Projects for the Community
Our donors from Germany have not limited their support to individual sponsorships. Some of them have also made significant contributions to essential infrastructural and hygiene-related projects, which are fundamental to our daily work. These include the construction of sanitation facilities; covering maintenance costs for the Hélène Ehret Vision Center in Tanuku; and the distribution of chemotherapy drugs, supplements, and food to 40 children suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia who, due to the lockdown, were unable to travel to Kolkata for treatment.
These projects have not only improved people’s quality of life but have also helped create stronger, more resilient, and self-reliant communities.
A Thank You That Goes Beyond Borders
On behalf of all the children, families, and staff of Missione Calcutta, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our donors in Germany for their trust, generosity, and for walking alongside us over the years.
Your solidarity proves that when we look beyond geographical borders, it is possible to build a fairer and more compassionate world. Continuing this journey together means creating hope where it is needed most.
